Ingredients:
- Bombay Rava/semolina/suji - 1/2 cup
- Bread slices - 10 no.
- onion(chopped) - 1/4 cup
- Tomato(chopped) - 1/4 cup
- Capsicum(chopped)- 1/4 cup
- curd/yogurt - 1/4 cup
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Green chillies - 2no.
- Pepper powder - 1/2tsp
- Butter - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp ( for 10 bread slices)
- Salt - to taste
- Green chutney/sandwich spread(optional) - 2tbsp
- Tomato ketchup(optional) - 2tbsp
Procedure:
- In a bowl, take rava, add chopped onion, tomato and capsicum to it.
- Add finely chopped green chillie, pepper powder, salt and combine well.
- Then add 1/4 curd and 1/4 cup water to the above mixture and make as a thick batter(use 1tbsp more water if needed). Let it rest for 15 - 20 minutes.
- Now take bread slices, spread butter over it and then spread rava batter evenly with spoon. I made three varieties, one with butter and other two with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
- Similary make all bread slices ready for toast.
- Heat tawa or frying pan on low flame, apply 1/2 tsp of oil for each bread then place the bread with batter side down and cook for few minutes till the mixture turns light golden colour.
- Then flip the bread and toast till it turns golden brown and crispy.
- Now Rava toast is ready to serve with some tomato ketchup over it. Tastes good if served immediately otherwise it becomes soggy.
